Character Name:
Shiori no Karu [Roughly translated into Poem Of Light]
Gender:
Female
Appearance:
Shiori is of thin, but not scrawny, build; at 5’3” and 115 pounds. Her chest is pretty small, and she is often mistaken for a boy much to her dismay. She often dresses casual, and doesn’t care for fancy clothing or jewelry, and scarcely wears any makeup. She wears shorts that hit mid-thigh, and fishnet leggings that end below the knee. Her dark blue tank top is tight-fitted to show off what little curves she has so everyone knows she’s a girl, and a tan trench coat like Anko’s is long enough to also reach her knees, this is where she hides her two metal fans, senbon, and bombs.
Her hair is almost never up, and it falls in waves to the bottom of her shoulder blades. Shiori’s eyes are a bright blue, and often gazing uncaringly; making her seem a little cold and indifferent to everyone around her.
On her lower back are burn marks from a failed mission, which she does not like to talk about. They are a grisly dark red, and a pretty horrid sight. She never lets anyone see her lower back, and she wears one piece swimsuits to cover the horrible burns when she has to go swimming.
Village:
She originated from the Waterfall Village, but is now living in the Leaf Village.
Fighting Style:
Shiori prefers long-range over anything else, and is highly skilled in genjutsu. But if forced into close combat, she uses a scythe media.photobucket.com/image/scythe/DuSundavarFreohr/scythe.jpg?o=28
[/img] that has been handcrafted and perfected by her great-grandfather. Shiori is excelled in water style, and still trying to find her second chakra element. Like Deidara, she uses bombs to explode all of her enemies. Though she mainly uses stealth, thanks to her small build and height she can squeeze into tight places and hide out. Weapons:
Scythe, senbon, a variety of bombs, and two metal blade fans.
Jutsu's:
All basic academy jutsus.
Water style: Dance of the Oncoming Waves – The area floods with water and waves crush the opponent whilst drowning them, but usually used as a last resort if she and her team are outnumbered by far way too many enemies.
Kokoro no akumu (Nightmare of the mind) – This is a genjutsu where Shiori traps her enemy into the back of their minds, lifting their greatest fears from their subconscious and into reality. Then when they are scared out of their minds, an illusion of her comes in front of them and grabs their throat, choking them and thus killing them. Though a terrifying jutsu, it is easily recognized and dispelled.
Tamashi no Dansu (Dance of the Soul) – A mixture of Ino’s mind control jutsu, and puppet strings technique; Shiori has full control of the enemies body, but she also has full control of herself unlike Ino. This jutsu, unlike Kokoro no akumu, cannot be dispelled at all. She often uses this during assassination, recon, and retrieval missions; but not very often during combat, though if pushed she does use it.
Metarufan No Ato (Art of the Metal Fan) – Shiori puts some of her chakra inside of her two metal fans, and they are flown into the enemy; slashing them and stealing their chakra. Can be deflected, but is often not because most enemies do not see them coming.
Sourusutira (Soul Stealer) – This one is Shiori’s most powerful techniques, in which she uses her scythe to slice right through the enemy, stealing both their soul (Simply, killing them) and all of their chakra. Though she must use this sparingly, as in return some of her energy is used up. So she can only use it on one person, and even then she doesn’t use it often.
Personality: Shiori is a carefree girl, full of free-spirit and independence; and definitely does not need any boy to help her out. She is short-tempered, especially angry if mistaken for a male, impatient, and lacking in gentleness. Though she is a fun-loving girl, she is quiet and doesn’t often look for conversation with strangers. She has a certain lack of trust for people she doesn’t know, and when she is around them she calculates everything about them, to their showing weaknesses, their apparent strengths, how they act, and what they look like; even how they stand.
To most people who don’t know her very well, she seems standoff-ish, uncaring, and harsh. Her eyes are bright but seem to glare at everybody; making her seem scary. Shiori also harbors a secret love for small, cute things though it is embarrassing for her to admit it. She also loves music and the art of dance and thoroughly interested in weapons, though she uses very few.
Age:15
Rank:Chuunin
Fears:Shiori hates heights, the very thought of them makes her stomach turn. She also secretly hates to be alone and away from everybody, she can’t stand to be alone. If she has to be sent on an independent mission, she’ll be fine. But if alone in a house or a building, maybe even in a town square she will get an anxiety attack.
Past Up Till Now:
Shiori was born and raised in the Waterfall Village with her mother, father, and little brother, but moved to the Leaf Village after her mission accident. Her father was a weapon maker for the village, and taught Shiori everything about weapon handling. He gave her the scythe his own grandfather gave him, considering she was so interested in weapons. From there on, her father taught her how to use the scythe and her pair of metal fans. Her mother was a dancer for the Omake Theater that was there, and often entertained Shiori and her brother with dances, acts, and songs. That is where Shiori’s passion for the arts originated.
As you recall, Shiori had burn marks on her lower back from a mission gone wrong. It was a nice sunny day, and her cell block had been chosen for a C-rank mission considering how far they had succeeded in their previous missions. The mission was a simple delivery mission, just take the package and give it to the elderly lady in the Sand village who was waiting to retrieve it. All was well, everybody was laidback and relaxed, enjoying the warm sunbeams and the soft breeze ticking their faces. Then the inevitable happened, the team was jumped. They were Hidden Mist ninja, intercepting the package which was a lot more expensive than originally thought; it contained gold and jewels, a birthday present from a very rich man to his mother. Thinking fast, Shiori quickly took out her bomb set and set them around the enemies who were distracted by her sensei. The bombs went off, but they weren’t Shiori’s bombs. They were the bombs that the enemy shinobi had secretly set up before they arrived, waiting to be set off. Loud explosions set off her own bombs, making a domino effect. There were terrified screams from both parties, including Shiori’s. She felt flames lick her body, burning off her shirt and singing her hair. She quickly dived behind a rock, covering her ears and squeezing her eyes shut to prevent any other emotional damage. Then it ended, just like that.
Days later, she was back in the Waterfall Village, sitting next to her badly injured sensei and the other teammate that survived with a charred limb and a missing eye half burned off, watching and participating in the funeral that was served for her dead teammate.
Family: Aiko – Shiori’s mother, a dancer and actress for the Omake Theater. She is loud and boisterous, though she is often never home because of her job and her love to drink. No matter how much she isn’t at home, she still thinks and wonders about her children.
Hiroshi – Shiori’s father and town welder/weapon maker. Taught Shiori everything he knows about weapons. A surly man, but he is full of love for his two children. His appearance is haggard and tired looking, and his eyes are soft and troubled.
Ichiro – Second born first son of the Karu family, he is quiet and a bookworm; and unlike his sister does not have the joy of partying. He is only 9 years old, but has the intelligence of a full grown mature man.
RP Skills: Cold. That was the first word that popped into Shiori’s head when she woke up. Dark, was the second. When she opened her eyes, she wasn’t even sure if they were open at all. She was surrounded by black, black everywhere. It was surrounding her, filling her with not just the chill in the air, but fear. The fear of being alone, it was coming back. Her head was spinning, reeling; she felt the blood pulsing in her head and the sound of silence filling the room, filling her ears. Her breath quickened, she had to get out of here fast and find someone she knew. One problem, she had no idea of where she was.
